About Me
I am a fully qualified Building Designer with over 15 years of industry experience specializing in residential and commercial design. I happily work with all clients of varying project sizes and budgets. I have lived in the Geelong area my whole life and have proudly helped many clients to design their dream home. As a father of four daughters, and having spent over a decade working from home, I understand the needs of big families and the spaces that will fit in with your lifestyle.
My Mission
My mission; is to make sure you are fully informed about the design & build process that we undertake together. Knowing where to start can be daunting for many people, so I hope to be the person who you can rely on too transform your vision from paper to reality. These projects are not about me, they are about you, so having you involved in all aspects of the design process is critical in achieving an outcome that can be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come.
Your Design
Bringing your design, idea's or concepts to life is something that I take very seriously. Sometimes, you know exactly what you want and it works well on paper, but other times your design may need that expert piece of advice in order for it to come to life. I will try to stay true to your vision while offering you solutions and suggestions to improve your project. I am passionate about what I do and I thrive on a challenge!

Stages of the Design Process

Consult & Ideas
To start the process, I will meet with you face to face for a 1 hour, at home consultation, listening to your ideas, needs and wants while discussing any external factors and or site constraints. All ideas are discussed at this first stage and then put together in a easily readable client brief detailing the project we are embarking on together.
Concept Drawings
With your design in mind I get to work on delivering your first set of drawings. This will include scaled floor plans with basic dimensions, so that you can get a visual idea of what your project will look like once completed. This is where any changes are made before more detailed preliminary drawings are undertaken.
Client Approval
Throughout the process I will engage with you regularly for your design approval or listen to your suggestions for changes. Each stage of the process will have your input and approval before moving on to the next stage. This is so that we can both ensure that you are getting exactly what you need from me and for your project.
Permits & Planning
I will complete all drawings for Building Permits & Planning Permit Approvals on your behalf. This process can often be quite daunting for home owners so I offer my services to assist you though this process to make it as stress free as possible, liasing with councils, private surveyors and builders all on your behalf.
3rd Party Services
With over 15 years in the Industry, my contact list is extensive which means I can help you source services which will be required during your build. These third party services include: Structural/Civil Engineers, Energy Raters, Fire Consultants, Access Consultants, Site Surveyors, Landscape Designers and more.
Final Drawings
Final drawings also known as Working Drawings, are the fully completed detailed design drawings which are used to receive a Building Permit. At the end of the job you will be presented with a bound copy for your personal record, as well as the three copies of final drawings including the required council and third-party reports ready for submission to a building surveyor to obtian a building permit.

  • Home Extention
    With a growing family this client wanted more space and extra bedrooms. I delivered a design that included two additional bedrooms, a study and family room. The extension delivered the additional space the clients were after as well as creating a four bedroom home with plenty of saleablity for the future.
    Internal Rennovation
    This client was looking at changing her dated and tired home for an open plan living space with updated kitchen and the inclusion of a Canadian inspired built-in stone fireplace. With the addition of three velux windows and modern kitchen, the home has been transform from a tired 80's style home into a modern livable area.
    Commercial Extention
    The Lara Physiotheraphy Clinic wanted to update their premises into a more usable space including new offices, consultation rooms, accessible toilets pilates and gym area. The property underwent major renovations to the rear of the building as well as internal renovations. By adding the extra space to the building the business has been able to see more clients with more avalaible rooms for patient care, as well as having ample on site parking now avalaible to them. The design had kept the front footprint of the building but now has a more modern look with seemless intergration to the new build at the back.
